Some of the highlights of my week was them doing my art project and then tutoring a girl. When they were doing my art project they loved it so much they got to decorate it with beads and form shapes, they loved that they got to decorate it however they wanted and they loved that it was going to be presented in the room. I also loved doing my bulletin board and having all the kids walk in and see that it has been changed. Another was tutoring the girl, it is as well a challenge because she does not understand time concepts or spelling and sounds. But it is a highlight when I explain something and she does understand I feel like I have made a difference in her day and that she is coming close to understanding something. I have had a great 3rd week and I am very excited to go back on Tuesday. (:

Some of the challenges we had this week, the students had picture day so we had to wait until pictures were over to start on our bulletin board projects. The rest of the week was very calm and regular though. The highlights were looking at the children's faces when I walked in and just seeing their smiles. Another highlight of my week was watching them make the bulletin board projects, they were having so much fun and smiling every minute they were working on it. The last highlight I had was when I was leaving and they all yelled thank you Ms. Grove. This week was great and way better since we had some what of a calm week:).

This week because of my bulletin board, I was able to work more with the kids as one big group instead of one on ones like I was doing previously. I read to them and they interacted very well. They were all happy that their pictures would hang in the hallway.
I also had the challenge of not actually have a bulletin board. I used a wall with a cork board strip for my bulletin board. Another challenge was that the students were so excited for me to be there, they wouldn’t always pay attention. Some of the students will come hug me in the middle of class and it’s hard to tell them to stop being nice like that. I just tell them that it’s not time to say,"Hi" or hug right now, and they understand.

Some highlights of this week was making my bulletin board and working one on one with students. With the bulletin board the students got to color. Which they loved to do, they acted more of themselves with the actives. Then working one on one with the students was enjoyable. The student got to learn and got to relax, instead of being nervous to say the wrong thing. Also I learned about them in the process of being one on one and the bulletin board. Some challenges of this week were trying to make the bulletin board while working with the students on other things. I would distract them or I would be working on other thing so I couldn’t get the board done. Another challenge was find stuff for me to do because this week the students were mostly doing quizzes, or worksheets. There weren’t many actives this week like last week. But all together it was a pretty fun week, mostly because the students are talking more and they aren’t nervous around me as much.

My third week at West was amazing. Some highlights were working on my bulletin board, helping the students one on one, and reading to them. As first graders the students really enjoyed coloring pictures and tracing their hands for my bulletin board. A challenge for me was working one on one with some of the students. Some of them are not comprehending anything we do in the classroom. I have gained more self-confidence theis week so when I read to the class it was easier for me. I also got to teach a lesson on Responsiblity and it was very fun. I really enjoy helping in Mrs. Hatfields class and I can't wait for next week.

Some challenges from this week were misbehaving students. Some of the students were fighting, stealing, and disrespecting me and Mr. Wells'. The highlight of the week was when the students were coloring their pumpkins and doing their fact triangles. Also I enjoyed going over their math practice sheet with them. They actually listened to me and behaved. It was a good week and I can't wait to see what next week has in store for me.

Some hihlights of this week was definitely the bulletin board, and how the students reacted to the bulletin board where awesome. Also being able to break through with some of the students doing the math facts card and just the excitment that wa shown through them when they finally achived their goal to move on to the next level. But with highlights comes some down fall, i had some students really struggling this week with listening and acting right. I actually had to make the one student move his clip, it was hard to make him do this. My mentor teacher said that punishment for the students not listening, is the hardest thing of teaching. The students seem to be aware now when I will or will not be in the class. Thursday the students all said we will see you next week and stuff like that. I can't wait for next week!

The challenges of this week were numerous. My teacher had surgery and had to be out all morning and so we were behind the rest of the week, the art project was a little to large for the kids to handle and we figured that out very fast. The highlight was that I actually got to work with the kids and my teacher only gave me positive feedback from the project.

During week three the highlight of the week was the bulletin board. On Tuesday the students filled out their leaves, pumpkins, and apples for me and I hung them up. The students highlight of that day was when I gave them cookies. The rest of the week went really smooth until the fire drill which all the kids did not like the loud noises. Other than that they students are really enjoying me being there. They ask me more questions and they ask me to read to them more. I'm really excited for week four to start.

The biggest challenge is cafeteria duty by far. It is next to impossible to get the children to quiet down. While I personally expect younger children to make a bunch of noise, when students start yelling across the cafeteria they need to be told to quiet down or "cool their jets" as I like to tell them. There were several major highlights this week. The biggest highlight was when my mentor teacher started coughing and started to lose her voice( yes I did feel bad for her) and I got to take over the class. I also had a great time working on the pumpkins with the students for the bulletin board.

Some of the highlights of my week was doing my bulletin board, helping a student one-on-one, and reading a book to my students. My second graders really enjoyed coloring their pumpkins and telling me all different kinds of storys from there past halloween experiences. Some challenges from the week were one of the students stealing from the teachers desk. Over all the week went very well and the students had fun working on their pumpkins for there bulletin board in the hallway!

The issue that I had with my students was getting them to understand where the quotation marks go when looking at a sentence. Another problem that we have in my classroom is the tattle tailing. The students feel that they should always be first. I am always reminding them that everyone will get there equal turns. One of my students is Hispanic and has problems writing things out in English, so the problem is getting to understand and use the English words.

My students absolutely loved doing dioramas; I did those in place of the bulletin board. The second day, we went outside to get leaves, sticks, grass, and such. Then, they had to glue everything in. That was probably the biggest challenge of the dioramas. As soon as I would walk into the classroom though, they would look over and ask me, "Is it time to do the dioramas yet?" or, "Are we doing the dioramas today?" It was cute. They enjoyed them. A challenge this week was working with a different teacher. Mrs. Peoples was principal for the week, so, I worked with Mrs. Brenneman. She was super nice, but she had different teaching styles. It was nice to be exposed to something different, but the class didn't know how to react since they had her for four days. Another highlight is that more students know me now. I do lunch duty, so they all get to see me at some point in time. They come up to me and say, "Hi, Miss Macy," and give me hugs. I was in a parade on Friday, and a bunch of my students were watching it; they would smile, wave, and yell my name. It was adorable. I'm absolutely loving this rotation.
