Assuming you all survived your first week, please take a moment to reflect on the following:
Overall, how well did your first week go? Were your fears justified, or did this experience surprise you? Describe the students, teacher(s), and classroom environment.

I was really shocked at what middle school was really like. My first week went good my mentor teacher Mrs. Norman is really nice she is an upbeat teacher and really connects with her students well. I am no longer scared of middle schoolers attitudes becasue I realized they really don't have one, they all respect mrs. Norman. The students at first were very shy and could not pronounce my last name but, by the end of the week they all warmed up to me being there and could pronounce my last name! Mrs. Norman is great she has let me do a lot of things already I can just tell that she has a lot instore for me to do in the next five weeks. The classroom environment is good, there are strict rules and the students follow them and all listen to the teacher. The students all feel comfortable in the classroom and most are real eager to learn. The school in general has no tardy bells the kids are so diciplined they know when to get to class. Mrs. Norman is very organized and has things ready weeks ahead of time so she shows me what they are getting ready to do. Over all I love the classroom I am in middle school is not as bad as I thought it would be.
The first week went great. I actually was not scared when I walked into the school. The students were not bad at all, they had a couple students in the classes that just like to shout out and interrupt the class, but all classrooms have those kind of students. The students overall were really behaved and listened to what the teacher or I would say. Mrs Kendziorski has always been a favorite to me, but this week she has made me feel so comfortable and a part of the class. The classroom environment is well organized, Mrs K. does more then one thing at a time and she is very organized. Technology, they have a smart board but they only have the teachers's computer in the classroom. The students have hanging files where they keep all their workbook pages and Mrs K puts their graded work in there. There is also a hanging file for each period to put their work to get graded. Everything about this week was amazing, I loved every minute of it.
My first week at Dover Middle school was kind of a surprise because it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. The middle scholars were what I thought they were going to be but I was comfortable in the room. The students were more open then my elementary school rotation. They respect the teacher a lot and the classroom is very student centered. Thought the day the students very, some ask a lot of questions then some don’t ask at all. The teacher tries to help all but some don’t want it. I think she is a very good teacher she helps the student anyway she can and she talks to them a lot. So far I like the classroom and I hope I will feel comfortable enough to teach a lesson.
My first week at Welty Middle School was different than I thought it would be. I realized right away that learning their names would be difficult. I have four different classes, but some of the students are in there twice. I have one Academic Assistance class (or AA class) which is a class for slower learners in specific areas. They are the class I've worked with the most.
There are the average, hard working students, the class clowns, and the more rebellious students. Cliques are very present in the classroom. Some talk about cheerleading while others talk about their friends who were cutting themselves. They talk about fighting and who is popular and who’s not. A lot of the students pay attention though. If the material is explained then they generally understand it. The environment is a positive one, with posters and space for everyone. There isn’t a lot of electronics in the classroom, but there really isn’t any need for it. There is an overhead projector in the ceiling and that’s all the technology they really used.
My first week went pretty well. Mrs. Baker just started teaching World History this year. I had her as a Reading teacher, so it was weird to see her in a different environment. This week, the students were doing Ancient Egyptian presentations. So, I got free food my first day. All of the presentations seemed exactly the same though, so it was monotonous. Some of the students are definitely trouble makers. I could tell already. Some of the students recognized me from Fifth Grade Camp though, since I was a counselor for a few years. I didn't get to do my Getting-to-know-you activity this week because of the presentations, but I plan on doing it Tuesday. Thursday, the middle school didn't have school due to parent-teacher conferences. When Mrs. Baker had free time, I went in. We talked about assignments I could do with the kids and all kinds of other stuff. She wants me to do her bulletin board for her soon. And her door still says "Welcome Back," so, she wants me to update that. She's going to let me make up a vocabulary quiz either this coming week or the following week. I really like working with Mrs. Baker. The students seem a little crazy, but I think I'll be able to work through it once they realize that I'm going to be a teacherly type figure in the classroom. I'm actually excited to be in the middle school now.

In fact I did survive! I enjoyed it, the students are great the teacher is nice, and the school is cool. So I think I really am going to enjoy the middle school rotation. I was wrong about how I felt I really did for the first week enjoy 6th grade, and math was fun to I don't know what I want to teach now! I felt that the first week went very well. I can't wait to go back for the second week. The Students are fun and warmed up to me immediately. There are not very many cliques and groups everyone seems to get along in one way or another.
I loved the first week of the middle school rotation. All of my fears were gone. The students were really nice and they listened really well. I was afraid the students would not respect me but they did respect me a lot. Mrs. Pryor is awesome, she has taught me how to handle the middle schoolers. Also, she is really teaching me how to use the computers more than I already know. I really like being in the gym and health class because I get to encounter all three grade levels. There are two classrooms for the two, both of them are open and nice. I am excited to go in there next week and get to know the students more.
My first week went okay. Some of the students were rude with me because they know I am from Phila. The experience surprised me. I am in a sixth grade Language Arts classroom at Dover Middle School. I am in there for three periods. The sixth period students seem to be unsure about me. Seventh and eighth period seem to like me. My teacher is really nice and supportive. She gave me my own desk for six weeks. The classroom is so much different from the elementary school classroom. The walls are so bare but the room is bigger. Overall the environment is cool and the faculty are nice.
My first week was great. I enjoy being in 8th grade science. It surprised me because I enjoy the teacher and the classes I'm in. I am in 3 science classes. The teacher is friendly and outgoing. She makes the environment fun and open. When she teaches she tries to get kids involved and excited about science. I have three classes I sit through and they are all pretty open and fun. She tries to keep the kids happy.
My first week went good. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I was totally surprised about how they acted and treated me. There was a lot more students in classes and I see 4 different classes. The students really like me being in their class and my teacher enjoys me being there because I know how to use technology and he doesnt.
This experience really surprised me. I thought it would be an extremely negative experience. This was the contrary however. I really liked middle school and it was like a short version of high school. The kids were really nice and I liked doing algebra stuff and helping the students learn it better. It's a lot of fun. Both of my teachers are very nice, and it was really cool.
i feel that my first week in the middleschool rotation was good. I really dont think that i will be able to do as much as i did in my previouse class. The seventh graders seem to like me and i like them too! i was not able to get my getting to know you activity done but i plan to next week
