What is your overall opinion of the American Education system? What are two positive aspects and two negative aspects of today's educational climate? What do you feel can be done to change the direction of our current system?

I am a teacher at Buckeye Career Center! This is my 10th year of teaching; however, it's my third year as the Teaching Professions instructor. I am a graduate of Kent State University where I received my degree in Social Studies Education. I have also attained my Master's degree in Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction through Walden University. I have been married for ten years. My husband and I have two children, Chloe and Carson. We are also expecting our third child in January.

I feel that the American Education System is a great system. I feel the routine is the way for students to get comfortable with the lessons their learning. The students will also remember what they are supposed to be doing at certain times. Testing helps the students study and remember the material. The testing is a bad thing because students get stressed and don't want to concentrate on the tests. The American Education System is organized and prepared each year and get through every school year successfully.
My overall opinion of the American Education system is that the people who make desisions of the schooling system is runned by professionals that have really never been into a classroom. I also think that it is a great thing because our education system gives the right for all students no matter what to learn. I also believe that mainstreaming is a good idea for students to be in the least restrictive environment so they could learn to their highest ability level. Two negative things would be that I believe mainstreaming is also a bad idea because they want to get rid of schools like Starlight which I believe we need for students who learn best their with teachers that know how to teach the students. I also believe that changing all the state standards can be hard to keep up with everything that they are needing to teach everything in all one year. I think that they need to rethink the mainstreaming idea, just because they still need schools like starlight for servre students.
My overall opinion of the American Education system is that I believe we have a good system that works. Two positive aspects about the American Education system are differentiated instructions and intervention strategies. A negative aspect is not letting children fail a grade. Another negative aspect is getting rid of the regular class and having only college prep class and intergraded class. What I feel can be changed is failing children when they need to be failed, having regular class, and class sizes need to be smaller.
The education system in America has evolved in the past few decades and has become better for the most part. Laws have been put into place so that students cannot be hit as punishment, and are legally protected if a teacher sexually violates them. Another positive aspect of the educational system is that teachers receive benefits such as health care and social security.
However, there are a few things I feel I could be improved. I think tenure could be modified because some teachers may not deserve the job stability. This is why I think teachers on tenure should be observed every ten years or so to renew their tenure. I also think that class sizes are getting larger and this places more stress on teachers. This can be fixed by having more teachers and more classrooms. Unfortunately, funding is a big issue in that area. So a more cost effective fix would be to hire more aides for the classrooms.

There is defintely positive in the summers off and getting to know students! Some negative aspects are the government hates teachers and made bill 5, second it can be very stressful. My overall opinion is that teaching is a good and nice job with its downsides. I think cleaing up the lack of apathy for education and electing senators for teachers can really help!
That there is room for improvement such as with the tenure policy. Two positive aspects of our educational system is public schools, and health benefits. Negative aspects include the government picking teachers, and negative public opinion. Clean up crime in the inner cities and elect officals who don't hate teachers with measures such as Senate Bill 5.
The education system in America is good but the people who run it need to sit in a classroom for a year. Two positive aspects are every student has the opportunity to learn and there are classes for students who struggle. Two negative aspects are some teachers are getting a raise even if their students are not succeeding and class sizes are becoming to large and students are not learning as well. We need someone who has actually been a teacher to make bills and be a big part of government.
I feel that the American Education system is a really good system. I feel that it is a good system because it displays good comfort ability within the schools. A positive aspect is that you get your summers off. Another positive aspect the health benefits you receive for being a teacher. Two negative aspects of the Education system is that they just made senate bill 5 and another is the stress. Each and every day the class sizes are getting bigger and bigger and putting more and more stress on teachers. I think the education system is doing well enough, but the only thing that they could change is by getting more senators on teacher’s sides instead of all the senators against all the teachers that educate their child.
I think that the overrall educational system is pretty good. Two positive aspects are that everyone has a chance to succeed and teachers have good benefits. Two negative aspects would be the Senate Bill 5 and teachers that set students up to fail.
I think the American Education System is broken. School used to be such a fun and just overall good place for students. The kids of America do not care as much about education as they used to. I think a lot of students just go to school because they have to. I think it's good that our schooling is free for everyone, though. That way the students who actually do care about education, can get it. Schools also provide sports and other extra curricular activies, and that's a bonus for students who aren't strong in academics. A negative of our schooling is that we have to teach to a test. I don't like that teachers have to stick to the guidelines of the OGT. Not everything can be taught when the main focus is the OGT. Also, we all know about Senate Bill 5. It's ridiculous. The people making these desicions don't understand what it means to be at teacher. They take it for granted.
I think the American Education system need improvement. For teachers there is postitive aspects. One would be teachers get their summers off and other breaks throughout the year. Also, the opprotunity to teach students and help them make decisions is awesome. Two negative aspects are how the public and government views the education system. Secondly, the class sizes in today's schools is too big. I feel like we could imporve it by the people who run the government sit in a class from a teachers prospective and how much teachers actually go through.
The education system has changed allot over the years. One positive that has changed is the new technology that can be used to better help the students. Another positive is that the children have so many new ways of learning. Two negatives would have to be that the reading levels and the common sense choices are not being taught or punished properly. Another negative is the senate bill five passed.
